You will find websites that state a clock time as if it were settled. Some say the game unlocks at midnight local time in each region. One site even claims a single worldwide moment of 5:00 AM UTC. These claims do not come from Rockstar, and they contradict each other. Rumor / unconfirmed
So the honest answer to “what time” is: not announced yet.
Why the unlock time matters
A digital game with a release date can still unlock in two different ways:
- At midnight local time in every region. Players in the Pacific zone get it three hours after players in the Eastern zone.
- At one global moment. Everyone gets it at the same instant, which means the clock time differs by zone, and for some people it is still November 18.
Both approaches exist in the industry. We do not know which one Rockstar will use for this game.
How the US zones compare in each scenario
The table below is hypothetical. It is arithmetic, not a schedule. On November 19, 2026 the US is on standard time, which puts Eastern at UTC-5, Central at UTC-6, Mountain at UTC-7 and Pacific at UTC-8.

These are examples. If the real time is different, the numbers shift by the same offsets. The launch time converter does this math for you, for more zones, and lets you plug in any hypothetical time.
Preload is a separate date
Preload and unlock are not the same thing. Preload lets you download the files in advance, and the game stays locked until launch. Digital pre-orders are reported to be able to preload starting November 12, 2026 (Hollywood Reporter), though one site we found gives a different date. Where the official time will appear
When Rockstar announces the time, expect it in one of these places first:
- Rockstar’s game page and newswire.
- The PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings, which usually show a countdown or a release time for your region.
Store listings can be region-specific, so check the one you buy from.
How this page gets updated
