GTA 5 PC System Requirements: Enhanced vs Legacy

Check your PC
Enter what you know. This checks only the numbers Rockstar lists for RAM, free space and drive type. Compare your Windows version, CPU and graphics card yourself using the tables above.
| Version | Minimum (RAM, space, drive) | Recommended (RAM, space, drive) |
|---|---|---|
| GTA V Enhanced (PC) | Enter your numbers | Enter your numbers |
| GTA V Legacy (PC) | Enter your numbers | Enter your numbers |
A pass here does not mean the game will run well. CPU and graphics card still matter. Rockstar says the requirements will change over time.

What the numbers mean for you
- The drive decides a lot. Enhanced lists an SSD as a requirement, and the recommended spec asks for a DirectStorage-compatible drive. Legacy lists an HDD. If you only have a hard drive, Legacy is the version Rockstar’s numbers point to.
- Free space is not the same as install size. Rockstar lists 105 GB, SSD required for Enhanced and 125 GB, HDD for Legacy as storage requirements. Keep a few gigabytes of margin for patches. That margin is our advice, not a Rockstar figure.
- Recommended is not a performance promise. Rockstar does not say what frame rate or resolution the recommended specs reach, so we do not either.
- Legacy exists for older PCs. Rockstar says it kept Legacy so players whose hardware does not meet the Enhanced minimum can keep playing. Official Players on the two versions are separate. See the Enhanced vs Legacy guide before you choose.
Common mistakes
- Comparing only RAM and forgetting the SSD. Enhanced will not meet its minimum on a hard drive, whatever the rest of the PC looks like.
- Assuming a newer card name means a faster card. The tables list specific models. Compare the model, not the generation.
- Treating the table as permanent. Rockstar says the numbers will change over time, so re-check before a big purchase.
- Skipping the Windows build. Enhanced lists Windows 10 build 1909 or above. Older Windows 10 builds do not match.
Check your PC
The tool above checks only the three numbers you can read in a minute: installed RAM, free space and drive type. It does not read your hardware and sends nothing anywhere. For the processor and graphics card, find your model in Windows (Task Manager, Performance tab) and compare it with the tables yourself.
