GTA 6 DualSense Controllers: Black and White Limited Editions
What was announced
On September 3, 2026, PlayStation revealed two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers inspired by Grand Theft Auto VI: the Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition (PlayStation Blog). Official
Per PlayStation’s description, both have a shimmering, color-shifting finish that combines sunset hues and neon glow, palm tree details molded into the controller, and official Grand Theft Auto VI branding. The Black one is described as capturing Vice City’s nightlife, and the White one as Vice City at daybreak (PlayStation Blog). Official

(PlayStation Blog.) One detail does not line up: the US PlayStation Direct listings for both controllers showed $84.00 when we looked (PlayStation Direct, Black; White). Official The 99-cent difference could be pricing or tax presentation. We do not know which, so go by the price at checkout.
Where to buy them
- White Limited Edition: available in limited quantities worldwide at PlayStation Direct and at participating retailers (PlayStation Blog). Official
- Black Limited Edition: available in limited quantities exclusively through PlayStation Direct where it is available, and through select retailers in other regions. Official
- PlayStation Direct regions: the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria. In Portugal, pre-orders go through playstation.com/store/hardware. Official
- Delivery: PlayStation says orders placed directly with it get free launch-day delivery for eligible pre-orders. Official
On the Black edition’s Direct page, the item is limited to one per order and shows as currently unavailable, “coming soon” (PlayStation Direct). Official The listing also mentions PlayStation Plus in connection with early access, and we could not tell from it exactly what is required, so read the page for your region before the next sale window. Rumor / unconfirmed
What they work with
PlayStation Direct lists both controllers as compatible with the PS5 console, PC, Mac and mobile devices (PlayStation Direct). Official The box contains the controller only. Official
For GTA 6 itself, PlayStation says the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers respond to the action and provide dynamic resistance in the game (PlayStation Blog). Official Those features exist on the standard DualSense too, so the limited editions add design, not new functions. That conclusion is our reading of the listings, not a PlayStation statement. Rumor / unconfirmed
Do you need one?
No. Nothing in the official pages says the game requires a special controller. The standard DualSense wireless controller is available in many colors on PlayStation Direct (PlayStation Direct). Official The limited editions are collector pieces and stay limited.
Xbox players: we did not find an official GTA VI-branded Xbox controller on Xbox’s pages. Rumor / unconfirmed
What we do not know
- Whether more stock will appear after launch day.
- Retailer-specific prices and release times outside PlayStation Direct.
- The exact price rule behind the $84.99 / $84.00 difference.
