GTA 6 Trailers: Every Official Video and When It Came Out

Last updated Official info and rumors, labeled

Quick answerRockstar's game page lists four official videos: Trailer 1, Trailer 2, An Extended Look and a Launch Trailer dated October 15, 2026. Trailer 2 came out May 6, 2025, and Rockstar said it passed 475 million views in a day.

The list

Rockstar’s game page lists four videos, from newest to oldest (Rockstar): Official

  1. Launch Trailer. Featured on the page and dated October 15, 2026 in Rockstar’s newswire.
  2. An Extended Look.
  3. Trailer 2.
  4. Trailer 1.

We watch these on Rockstar’s own pages and do not embed or reproduce them, since the videos belong to Rockstar. The thumbnails and stills you see elsewhere are not ours to copy either, which is why this site uses original illustrations only.

Dates and what each one is

Trailer 1 (December 2023). The first trailer arrived in December 2023, according to a trailer roundup (GTA Boss). Rumor / unconfirmed We could not trace the exact day to a Rockstar page, so we keep it at month level.

Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025). Press coverage dates the second trailer to May 6, 2025 and reports that Rockstar said it was captured on PS5 hardware and made of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes (GTA Boss). Rumor / unconfirmed That attribution comes through a roundup, not Rockstar’s own page, so treat the capture detail as reported.

An Extended Look (August 27, 2026). One report says this video aired on Thursday, August 27, 2026, first on Netflix and then on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the game site the same evening. Rumor / unconfirmed We found that in a single report and could not cross-check it. The video itself is listed on Rockstar’s page. Official

Launch Trailer (October 15, 2026). This is the newest item on Rockstar’s page. A search for coverage of it came back empty when we looked, so all we can say is what the page shows: it exists and is dated October 15, 2026. Official

The view counts

Rockstar said the second trailer passed 475 million views across platforms in its first 24 hours, a figure that TechRadar reported. Official VGC reports Rockstar calling it the biggest video launch of all time. That is Rockstar’s own claim about a company-run video, counted across platforms, so the number says more about marketing reach than about anything in the game.

Older view counts for Trailer 1 and for Trailer 2 appear in several articles, but they date from 2025 coverage and have changed since. We do not repeat them.

What trailers can and cannot tell you

A trailer is chosen footage. A few reasonable limits when you read analysis of one:

  • Footage can change before release. Trailers show a build from some point in development. The final game may differ.
  • Frame-by-frame readings are guesses. Claims about hidden plot points, characters or map layouts based on a few seconds of video are speculation. Rumor / unconfirmed
  • Gameplay vs cutscene matters. Rockstar’s own description of Trailer 2 mixes both. Do not assume everything on screen is playable.
  • What you can rely on: Names and places Rockstar states on its page, such as Jason and Lucia and the setting of Vice City in Leonida. Official Those are covered in our story and characters guide and map guide.

What to do with this

If your goal is to decide whether to buy, the trailers answer one question: do you like what the game looks and sounds like? They do not answer price, edition or performance questions. For those, see the price guide, the editions guide, and GTA 6 60 FPS and PS5 Pro.

How we handle trailer news

When Rockstar posts a new video, we add it to the list above with the date it appears on Rockstar’s page and the first source that carries it. If a date comes only from press coverage, we label it that way, as in this article. The last-updated date at the top tells you when the list last changed.
